She ignored the comments related to her health; she could not die like this, that was too boring and outcome for Discord to allow. As for the issue with the bathing... she hadn't cleaned herself since her transformation. It wasn't that she hadn't notice the small that came of it, she just assumed all changelings stank just the same. Either way, that was neither here nor there; she had ponies to save. "And how many of those ponies were actually changelings?" She glared at he precious sister as she trudged along, never once slowing down or hesitating in what she would do. "You don't seem to get it: They change their appearance, they lie, they steal the face of somepony else to get what they want. All that treaty has done is give the means to not have to hide that they're here. They can do what they want, when they want, and pin the blame entirely on somepony, or even someone, else. Don't you get it, that's how they survive and hunt us: They can become one of us! Then, suddenly, you can't trust you best friend, or your other friends, or the love of your life, or any of your family. Then they've got emotions aplenty to feed on; sucking ponies dry and killing off any that would stand in their way without retribution. "And, from how quick you are to ONLY believe the best in them, I'm starting to wonder if you're not even really Luna!" It was the truth; that her sister could be so blind to a problem was this magnitude was something that Celestia was having a hard time coming to terms with. It was at least a likely possibility that she had been replaced. |

Luna simply rolled her eyes as the Changeling or pony continued her paranoid ramblings. She would just have to face the fact that there was no getting through to her. She wanted to befriend her... but she supposed she just didn't have Celestia's charm. She was never the best at making or keeping friends, but in almost all situations, she assumed it was her own fault. “I never claimed they weren't without fault, just that ponies have done equally terrible things.” But she had to laugh when the Changeling suggested she was not who she seemed. “Pu-lease! A few months ago they tried to take the place of both myself and Celestia. They lasted less than an hour. Their impersonations have always been and will always be imperfect.” “Besides, they have not the power over the moon and sun that I do. Not even their queen could accomplish that. Speaking of which, I do need to go and raise the sun. And I'm certainly not leaving you alone.” Luna promptly confined the Changeling with her magic and began walking in the opposite direction. The now helpless Changeling could only dangle beside Luna as she walked. |

"No, you just ignore their faults and focus on the faults of ponies so that the Changelings look so much better by comparison. All those 'crimes' you accuse them of are the actions of somepony trying to defend their home. You're entirely ignoring that they invaded Equestria, harmed goodness knows how many ponies in the process, completely destroyed relationships thanks to nopony being able to trust ANYPONY else and have the ability to completely undermine everything in the government by taking the form of whomever they need to to get something!" Celestia continued on, ignoring the comment about how their impersonations were imperfect. They had been good enough to get in here twice, hadn't they? That seemed like more than enough of a reason to be mistrustful. She suddenly yelped, hissing and her wings buzzing like mad. She hadn't been picked up in a long time, so it wasn't exactly the most comfortable sensation. "Put me down this instant! I will not let you imprison those poor ponies any longer than you already have. They are just acting out their fears, very justifiable fears at that! I'm not going to let them be punished for being concerned for their families and friends just because you don't care about them!" |

“Whatever you say. You're the expert.” Luna said sarcastically, merely sighing at the now apparent pointlessness of their conversation. Ponies hardly lived to be above two hundred years old. They had no idea of the eons of experience and events that surround the Alicorn sisters. But for now, Luna would let the Changepony wallow in her ignorance, if it kept her happy. “Imprisoning them is not about you, and not about them. It's about the law. And injuring innocents without provocation is no way to treat anypony—or Changeling. And so long as I'm ruler, I'm going to care for every creature in my country. Everyone gets a fair chance to prove themselves as good or bad, trustworthy or a criminal. I just—want to be fair to all involved.” she stared forward for a few moments, lost in thought as she walked and Carapace merely floated along beside her. “And for caring about them so much, you aren't very willing to negotiate. So they'll have to wait until I have time for them. Carrying you around is easy. I could do this all day. You're really light, you know. It worries me a little, but... suppose there's nothing I can do about that.” she said with chagrin. |

"This isn't open for negotiation!" She snapped back at the alicorn of the night. "You're holding those ponies against their will for doing what their job tells them to do: Protecting Equestria!" The changeling squirmed and thrashed about in her sister's magical grip. "There is no such thing as an 'innocent' changeling! They are emotional vampires that feed off ponies because that was how they were made, just to complete Discord's little playtime and make ponies suffer! They should hate them, they're monsters, things without remorse and threats to everything this country has ever stood for! That you would let some treaty that they made up and probably aren't even obeying stop you is just outright idiotic!" |

“Oh yes, you're in the perfect position to be making demands of me.” Luna smiled at the futile predicament of the still trapped Changeling. “They're suffering because of you, not me. And you should know you're quite lucky they themselves weren't tortured. Honestly a night in the dungeon is merciful compared to what they did to you.” she looked sorrowfully at the poor Changepony, remembering what her battered body had looked like before the healing. “And as a note, you never attacked Equestria. They weren't protecting anything, they were attacking without reason. And besides that, you're a pony, right? I mean, I could see you wanting to pay for your crimes if you were actually a Changeling, but you're willing to take the punishment for a species you hate just because you happen to be trapped in one of their bodies.” she paused. “And you call me an idiot.” Luna mumbled. |

"HOW STUPID ARE YOU?!" She never talked like this to her sister, even at her worst. This was just too much; all the debate about how unfair the changelings were being mistreated (which she highly doubted form what she'd seen), that she could handle even with this form and the stress she was under. But to say that they never attack Equestria... there were no words. "How about I take away everything you love, everything you hold dear and never let you know it's safe?! How about I replace your friends and anypony close to you with lookalikes that work for me and could kill you just because I feel like it?! AND NONE OF THIS 'I'm a goddess' HORSE APPLES EITHER! How about I just make sure that I even leave a few there, so you never know who is and isn't planning to kill you any second of any day!? Or worse, harm you family!! That is what everypony with half a brain to themselves is feeling right now! Because they can't trust ANYONE anymore!" She was hissing in her rage, the goo that the body produced piling up in her mouth and she was suddenly struck with a memory. This goo had anti-magical properties; maybe that could get her out of this now. So, unceremoniously, Celestia gathered what she could in her mouth and spit right at her sister's horn. |

“Please, I'm a princess. You always have to expect that somepony is trying to kill you.” she still trotted along, now going up the steps of one of the towers of Canterlot Castle. “And I do see what you mean. But I really don't think it's as bad as you make it out to be. After all, the Changelings only seem to attack when they are under the control of a queen. When they're not, they can be civil, even if you don't believe it.” “And as I have previously mentioned, all of them are on thin ice. One wrong move by them, and the treaty could be over. And judging from the reaction of the guards to you, the so called protectors of Equestria will use any excuse or slip-up they can to put one of your kind—their kind—in prison. They aren't getting any slack just because there's a treaty. They all have to pull their weight to better Equestria.” “But we've shown the Griffons kindness, and even they eat meat. They've been known to kill ponies too. Yet we don't hold prejudice against them for being what they are. We are surely wary, but we are their friends as well. There is peace between us because both species uphold it.” “Still, the guards will use any excuse they can to accuse—“ she was cut short as she felt her magic leave her. Carapace began to fall to the floor, and instinctively Luna tried to use her magic to catch her, but of course nothing happened and the Changepony slammed against the floor. But magic was not the only skill Luna possessed, and she lunged at Carapace, pinning her to the floor. “Oh no you don't! What did you just do to me, you—you! |

Celestia glared at her sister as she lay there; she hadn't gotten very far, and had hoped that the shock of losing her magic would keep Luna distracted long enough for her to get a good distance before she thought to chase her. And there was the hunger again, so desperately biting at her, in the stomach, the back of her mind; it was tempting her so much even now. Luna's rage was literally a physical presence to the former solar princess, and her body longed to consume it even if it wasn't the emotion her body was keyed to; but she held off, she would not be one of them, not now, not after holding out this long. "For somepony who acts like she knows so much about changelings, you seem to have missed a very important detail." The snide remark brought up old instincts, she almost smirked like she would have in the face of an angry diplomat who couldn't- legally- get what they wanted from her, but that instinct was forced back as well. There was a time and a place for humor and smirks, and a time like this was not one of them. "The slime a changeling produces does two things: One, it's obviously sticky and hardens into a cocoon. And two, it's highly anti-magical; enough to even block an alicorn's magic unless they put the majority of their power into breaking out." She lay there for a moment, then spoke again. "Also, sorry about this." She spat again, this time right in Luna's face. She wasn't terribly worried, as neither of them even needed to breathe, but there was still no small amount of guilt that came from spitting something like that into your own sister's face. She just got ready to run in the event Luna so much as loosened her hold on her. |

Luna cried out as the sticky goo splattered across her face, almost instantly hardening over her nose, and almost getting into her eyes. Fortunately, she closed them just in time, but in the process, her left one was sealed shut. She spluttered as some made it into her mouth, her saliva disallowing it to harden so she was able to at least spit it out. She lifted a hoof to try and remove it, growing more frantic when it didn't easily come off. This was the stuff she had recently been encased in, and the fearful thought crossed her mind that Carapace was an imposter who was trying to help capture her again. After all, with so many Changelings in the city, it would be easy. Normally, Luna wouldn't have associated with them out of caution, but she'd made an exception for this one seeing as she was a special case. She looked up with her good eye, half expecting them to swarm in and take her again. Come to think of it, the one that had posed as Ezreal had apologized, too. Could this have been the same one? They all looked enough alike. That was when she realized that Carapace was gone. There were no other Changelings in sight, so Luna had a suspicion where she'd went off to. Assuming this wasn't part of a rescue mission, which would be odd considering she made it all the way to the castle from the middle of Canterlot without incident. The bit about using magic to remove the now hardened goo hadn't escaped her, however. Well, Carapace wouldn't get very far, the guards would see to that. And hopefully, after their last encounter with the princess, they had learned a lesson. So Luna focused, drawing on her magic until she'd stored up enough for a powerful blast. The walls shook around her, and perhaps created a mini-earthquake in the nearby vicinity of the castle as well. But Luna exercised her mouth and blinked her eyes several times, glad to be free. She'd have to watch it from now on. Upon standing, Luna fell against the wall. She hadn't realized how much that would actually take out of her. Well, the sun would certainly be late, but since there was nothing she could do about that, she might as well go after the Changeling. Or Changepony, she just didn't know anymore. |
